Lush, Hush, & Crush

Does anyone here like the Selection series? Or Hunger Games?
No one, huh?
Just kidding…
I love them, and if you liked them, you LOVE the Lush series!

The other day I got a $20 Amazon Gift card and as hard as I tried to avoid buying $20 worth of books, I did.

My husband predicted it, and I denied it.

I don’t regret one purchase either. The last two books int he Lush series, “Hush” and “Crush” were just two of the many books I bought and they did NOT disappoint!

You can buy the whole trilogy for $5.29, right HERE

What are you waiting for!?!?! GO get it 🙂

Alright, so let’s get into the gritty details…

well, not so gritty.

First, let’s talk about the names. The names of Bluebelle (the main character) and all her girl friends are floral, so her friends are Lily, Petals, Petunia, Holly, and Rosebud….

I’d feel bad for them, except that is the norm in their compound? Country? Place of residence…I don’t know. The guys are all named after nature things like Ash, Stream, Thorn, Blade, Leaf, etc.

I think it is a fun idea, and if you cannot get creative as an author,

What is the point!?!?

Consequently, the names of most, if not all of their parents are fallen cities like Denver, Jackson, Aspen, etc.

I love it.

Little details like these make me happy as a reader.

Moving on.

So, from age 5 until about 17 the girls and boys are separated from each other (even brothers and sisters), and their parents. Parents can visit them on Sundays.

At 17 they can incorporate, which means the guys and girls begin training for their careers. They can also enter into marriage contracts, and find out what brand they are going to get.

Will they be Infertile or Fertile? If you are wealthy it isn’t too big of a deal, but if not, you may as well just give up on life now.

Maybe that is harsh.

Only, Bluebelle is NEITHER! She is LUSH!

Lush with life, which means she can have a ton of children rather than just one.

This couldn’t have happened to a better citizen. She is well behaved, daughter of one of the Council, granddaughter to another of the Council, and doesn’t question a thing.

She is the perfect ambassador to keep Concord’s citizens compliant.

She begins reading a mysterious story that explains some dreams

and she gets a top secret tablet that has her questioning all she has ever known.

This series is GREAT! Go get it and review them on Amazon and Goodreads!
